What Yahweh Can Do

Famished and stranded in a lonely desert,
there wasn’t a glimmer of hope
that a wilting tree
with leftover cherries
was waiting somewhere

Tempted and distraught,
there wasn’t a modicum of assurance
that some unfortunate tree
that was waiting somewhere
would satisfy even half
a quarter of them

But meat like rain
and bread like dew
was the invention of Yahweh
in a parched and dreary land

Reminding us,
what only He can do.
