Unseen like the wind,
they could
blow away your fears
or your dreams.
You can’t tell how thermic
until, like wild fire
they raze down
to sheer ashes
And like frigid water,
every fiery zeal is
reduced to naught
You can’t reach them
but they touch you
so easily
they spin you on a pivot
set you on motion
or plant butterflies
in your gut
What can’t you do
with them?
What can’t be done
to mortal you
with them?
Death and life
are cryptic emissaries
of the tongue.
