Scriptures That Will Help You Find Peace in Difficult Times

Oftentimes, we go through some challenges and hard times that make it difficult to find peace of mind.

It can be difficult to stay calm and be at peace when times get tough. It can be hard to move on in life, when you’re dealing with a difficult situation.

You know God is there and you know He is listening; you know He sees all you’re going through and He is for you; yet sometimes you just need a reminder.

When struggling to find peace, leaning on God is the best thing to do. Finding solace in God is the best thing to do when things get hard and there are troubling circumstances around us. He’s the only one that can offer true comfort in times of need.

David understood this and turned to the Lord for strength and hope in his time of distress. In 1 Samuel 30:6, we read of how David was greatly distressed; because the people spake of stoning him. “The soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.”

One major way through which God comforts, strengthens and helps us in difficult times, is through His word. God’s word – the Bible, is a source of peace.

You will always find peace of mind, when you turn to the word.

I have fought many battles throughout my life, but instead of breaking me, they made me strong. Thanks to these experiences, I have learned to get back up after falling.

I have been thrown into some fires that were supposed to consume me, but God kept me! He did so by the power of His word.

I know I still have many challenges to face, but I will never give up. The honest truth is, if you have God and His word in this life, you have won. You have really won!

I have seen God change things but I have not seen things change God. That’s why you need God and His word to find peace in all that you pass through in life. The word of God is filled with testimonies of how God calmed difficult situations with His peace.

You need the word!

I have highlighted below, some scriptures that can help you find peace of mind when the going gets tough.

Romans 8:28 AMP

And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose.

1 Peter 5:7 TPT

Pour out all your worries and stress upon him and leave them there, for he always tenderly cares for you.

Lamentations 3:24 CEV

Deep in my heart I say, “The Lord is all I need; I can depend on him!”

Psalms 23:4 NLT

Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.

Isaiah 26:3 GNT

You, Lord, give perfect peace to those who keep their purpose firm and put their trust in you.

Psalms 29:11 NLT

The Lord gives his people strength. The Lord blesses them with peace.

Psalms 119:76 EASY

Now, please use your special love to make me feel better. That is what you promised to do for me, your servant.

Psalms 27:1 CEV

You, Lord, are the light that keeps me safe. I am not afraid of anyone. You protect me, and I have no fears.

Psalm 46:1 KJV

God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.

John 16:33 KJV

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

These are selected few, there are so many others. As you study the word the holy spirit will open your eyes to see more and grant you understanding.

God is saying this to you specifically: “Peace I leave with you; My [perfect] peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid. [Let My perfect peace calm you in every circumstance and give you courage and strength for every challenge.]” (John 14:27 AMP)

Meditate daily on all the scriptures above and the peace of God will fill your heart.

Say this prayer with me:

Lord, I come to you today and I ask that you would calm my soul. Let your peace take over every area of my mind, body and spirit. Help me to be confident in your love for me and how much more important that is than anything going on around me. Give me a new perspective on each situation in my life and help me to find peace in everything I do in Jesus’ name. Amen.
