Have you ever come to a point where you think God has abandoned you or He probably just doesn’t care about you again?
Maybe things have been so bad and you can’t but imagine where God is.
You feel confused, lonely and tired.
At such times, what do you do?
The devil is all around you, suggesting all manner of stuff. Your mind wanders everywhere until you don’t know what to think again. Your friends and perhaps, loved ones can’t seem to help you.
All you ask yourself is, how on earth will I overcome this?
At that point, the most important thing you should do is take a trip down memory lane and reflect on all the instances where God’s love, commitment and deliverance had been so real to you.
Think upon those times when God’s mighty hand was evidently manifest for you.
Think upon them again and again.
Then you will see how that will help you find strength, courage and faith to pull through. Fresh hope in God’s ability and commitment towards you will be inspired again to help you forge ahead.
God himself often reminded the Israelites how He brought them out of Egypt and did many wondrous things amongst them.
You will see that repeatedly when you check through the entire old testament scripture.
I often wondered why He did that.
Then, I realized it was to help them renew their faith in the God of all ability, when they were down to nothing. It was to help them overcome the lying whispers of the enemy discouraging them from Yahweh when they were at their lowest ebb.
Although, they hardly ever realized that, He’d remind them again and again, leaving us an example to take a cue from.
So, when it seems as if God is far away, take a trip back; draw strength, faith and hope from what He had done aforetime and see how your doubts fritter away.
And when that happens, you can pray and confess again with renewed faith, trust and hope.
You can pray with understanding from His word where He says,
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6 NKJV)
After you have been revived by the surge of strength, faith and hope, you can stand and fight and insist on your victory.
And more often than not, God shows up not long after.
